About KJH

Ceremonies are shaped by three simple principles:

Ceremonies are shaped by three simple principles:

Be kind, be joyful, be human. Every life is unique, and every farewell deserves to reflect that honestly and warmly. I take time to truly listen, to understand the stories, quirks, achievements, humour and love that made someone who they were.

Together, we create a ceremony that feels authentic and personal, allowing space for grief while also celebrating the joy, connection and meaning that life brought. A thoughtful, human tribute to a life well lived.

About me

Hello.
My name is Kerry Jane Harrison, I am 66 years old. I trained as a nurse in 1978.

I have four handsome sons and a beautiful stepdaughter. My husband and I are blessed to have seven grandchildren plus one on the way in June 2026. We adore them all and family is precious.

I worked for many years as a District Nurse and then moved on to study and specialise in Palliative, End of Life Care. For the last twenty-one years I have worked in Hospices. Most recently as a Clinical Director in a local Kent Hospice.

In 2025 I trained with the Academy of modern Celebrants and qualified as an Independent Funeral Celebrant. I have vast experience supporting people at one of the most vulnerable, challenging times of their lives.

Death, whether sudden or expected hits families, loved ones and friends with a raft of emotions. I have learnt over the years how to support and care for the bereaved in the most compassionate, empathetic way.

Grief is “normal” and comes in may guises, together we can explore this. To grieve you have to have loved, whether the intensive love of a spouse / partner, child, close family, or as a friend, work colleague or acquaintance. I have loved and lost… so I draw on professional and personal experience to act as a celebrant, to lead the personalised, individual celebration of life for YOUR LOVED ONE.

Support

Areas where I can support you.

Areas where I can support you.

When someone you love dies, knowing where to begin can feel overwhelming. I'm here to take that weight from you — gently guiding you through every step, at your pace, in your own way.

Planning the Ceremony

Helping families design the order of events, from music and readings to personal rituals and special touches that reflect who their loved one truly was.

Writing the Eulogy

I am happy to write it, you can write it, or you can do it together — whatever feels right for your family.

Emotional Support

Drawing on 21 years in palliative and end of life care, I can offer compassionate, empathetic guidance through one of life's most challenging moments.

Personal Storytelling

Taking time to truly listen to the stories, quirks, humour and love that made someone who they were — weaving them into a ceremony that feels genuinely authentic.

On the Day Support

I will arrive early, liaise with the funeral team, and will be there if anyone changes their mind about speaking — so families can focus entirely on saying.

Choosing the Right Service

Whether cremation, burial, woodland, church, or a celebration of ashes, I can guide families through the options and help shape the right farewell for their loved one.

  • Genuine kindness

I can’t thank Kerry Jane Harrison from  enough for the beautiful service she created for my mum Jackie Winter. From our very first conversation, she showed genuine kindness, compassion, and understanding during such a difficult time.

    A loving daughter

  • A heartfelt and meaningful tribute

Despite this being one of her first services, her professionalism truly shone through. She took the time to really listen and learn about my mum, ensuring the ceremony reflected her personality, values, and the essence of who she was.

The result was a heartfelt and meaningful tribute that brought comfort to everyone there.

  • A beautiful send-off

Her warmth and care made all the difference, and she guided us through the process with sensitivity and reassurance. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a celebrant who truly cares and goes above and beyond.

Thank you again for giving my mum such a beautiful send-off.

  • I could not have wished for better

First of all may I say thank you for your celebrating Sue's life for, and with, us on Monday. It was remiss of me for not thanking you after the celebration but, frankly, I was an emotional mess - and still am !

Your handling of the occasion was excellent and exactly as I had requested; I could not have wished for better. My family all join me in thanking you.
